The Isolus was an empathic alien plant creature with a child-like consciousness. The Isolus possessed a child called Chloe Webber, just before the 2012 London Olympic Games. Chloe did drawings of children on the street where she lived, kidnapping them so that the Isolus would no longer be lonely. The Tenth Doctor and Rose arrived and were able to recover the Isolus’ spaceship from beneath the retarmacked street. This allowed the Isolus to return home and leave Chloe Webber for good.

The Tenth Doctor and Rose arrive in London 2012 to celebrate the Olympic Games. However, all is not well on Dame Kelly Holmes Close! Kids are disappearing, snatched out of thin air! The Doctor and Rose speak to Chloe Webber and her mother who live on the street. Chloe has a power to bring drawings to life and to also snatch the kids and trap them in the drawings. Chloe’s dad died a year previously and he was a domestic abuser (unfortunately, violence against women is a part of life). I support the use of women’s refuges. So Chloe has drawn a monstrous drawing of her in her wardrobe, which comes to life and tries to attack Rose! Chloe accidentally ingested the Isolus, an alien plant which has a child-like consciousness. The Isolus is lonely and wants Chloe to draw the Earth so that the world’s population is absorbed by the drawings. Chloe draws the Doctor and the TARDIS so they become trapped. Rose digs up part of the pavement using a council axe and discovers the Isolus’ tiny spaceship. Rose throws it into the flame of the Olympic torch being carried down the road. The Isolus spaceship is reenergised and the Isolus leaves Chloe and goes home. However, the drawing of Chloe’s dad comes to life and begins to threaten Chloe and her mum. Rose urges the two to sing and this repels the drawing. Rose, Chloe and her mum watch the Doctor carry the Olympic torch to the Olympic Stadium and he lights the flame, sending the Isolus back home. The Doctor and Rose celebrate the London Olympics and go to see the games. However, the Doctor is concerned that a storm is approaching…
