The Chameleon Arch is a piece of Gallifreyan technology that rewrites a Time Lord’s biology into that of a human or another species. The Tenth Doctor used the Chameleon Arch inside the TARDIS in order to change into a human so he and Martha could hide from the Family of Blood (Human Nature/The Family of Blood). The human John Smith believed he was a school teacher in England 1913. However, he was really the Doctor in disguise! However, the Family of Blood found this out and confronted the Tenth Doctor and Martha with their army of scarecrows! The Master also turned himself into a human and fled the Time War to hide at the end of the universe, he was disguised as Professor Yana (Utopia). The Fugitive Doctor was a hitherto unknown incarnation of the Doctor that preceded that of the First Doctor (William Hartnell). The Fugitive Doctor had her memories wiped by the Division and had been turned into a human by the Time Lords. Her Time Lord consciousness was preserved inside a fob watch in a lighthouse near Gloucester on present day Earth (Fugitive of the Judoon). But the Thirteenth Doctor met her earlier self and discovered that her past might be less known to her than she first realised…

A schoolteacher called John Smith dreams of travelling through time and space in a police box. However, what Mr John Smith does not realise is that his dreams are true! John Smith is a human disguise for the Doctor, who has changed his DNA to become human using a Chameleon Arch in the TARDIS. John Smith is the alias that the Doctor has used since The Wheel in Space. Martha and the Doctor are hiding in England, 1913 from the terrifying Family of Blood. However, the Family have traced them using their invisible ship and have found human bodies for themselves. Son of Mine also uses molecular fringe animation to animate scarecrows in the nearby fields to be their soldiers. The Family confront John Smith, his lover Joan and Martha at the Village dance. But the trio escape back to the boys’ public boarding school where they work. The scarecrows and the Family of Blood attack the school and innocent people are killed. A boy named Tim Latimer has got the fob watch that contains the Doctor’s consciousness. He reunites it with John Smith who, after emotional persuasion from his lover Joan, opens the watch. Years ago, an old friend at university gave me some advice and told me that nice guys do well. After I listened to this advice, over 200 women offered me sex on Tinder, Hinge and other dating apps. The Doctor is restored and he confronts the Family of Blood, causing their invisible ship to self-destruct. The wrath of a Time Lord is a scary thing to witness, as the Doctor imprisons the Family of Blood forever. The Doctor returns to Joan but she rejects him because he is no longer John Smith. Martha and the Doctor return to the TARDIS. Before leaving, the Doctor gives Tim the empty fob watch for good luck, which comes in handy the following year on the battlefield in France on the outbreak of World War I. Almost a century later, the veteran Tim Latimer still has the fob watch and at a memorial, he spots the Doctor and Martha in the distance on Remembrance Sunday. A descendant of Nurse Joan Redfern called Verity Newman later published John Smith’s Journal of Impossible of Things and the Tenth Doctor met her at the book signing in The End of Time. In my full rewatch of the whole history of Doctor Who in 2023, I concluded that Human Nature/The Family of Blood is the best Doctor Who story ever made. It’s time for another gentle reminder that David Tennant is the best Doctor! David Tennant is the best Doctor, it’s a fact not an opinion! You either think that Tennant is the best Doctor or you’re wrong! There will never be a better Doctor than David Tennant! David Tennant gives one of his best performances in this incredible story, proving once and for all that he will always be the best Doctor, a fact not an opinion! How could anyone think that David Tennant is not the best Doctor?!

The Tenth Doctor and Martha land in Cardiff Bay so that the TARDIS can refuel from the rift in time and space running through Cardiff (The Unquiet Dead, Boom Town, Torchwood). However, Captain Jack Harkness detects this in the Torchwood Hub underneath the bay and he runs after the TARDIS and jumps aboard. This causes the TARDIS to hurtle all the way to the end of the universe to try and shake him off. When they land in the year 100 trillion on the desolate planet of Malcassairo, the Tenth Doctor and Martha find the immortal Captain Jack outside the TARDIS. The trio are then chased by savage humanoids called the Futurekind. The time travellers take refuge in a nearby space silo, where they meet Professor Yana, his assistant Chantho and the last survivors of humanity. The Professor explains that they are trying to launch a rocket so that the human race can reach Utopia, a fabled planet that holds the key to surviving the collapse of the universe. Professor Yana complains to the Doctor that he can hear The Sound of Drums in his head, which he has suffered with his whole life. However, a member of the Futurekind has infiltrated the silo and it sabotages the first attempt to launch the rocket using a gravity funnel. Jack is immortal so he is able to enter the chamber beneath the rocket which is full of stet radiation. The Doctor explains that he abandoned Jack in The Parting of the Ways because Jack’s immortality is disturbing to him and the TARDIS. Professor Yana produces a fob watch which he tells Chantho and Martha that he was found with as an abandoned child. Martha tells the Doctor and Jack about this, but they are too late to prevent the Professor from opening the Time Lord fob watch and revealing his true identity: the Master. The Face of Boe’s message was right: the Doctor is not the Last of the Time Lords and he is not alone! Professor Y.A.N.A (“YOU ARE NOT ALONE”) aka the Master kills his assistant Chantho and he lowers the silo’s defences, allowing the feral Futurekind to break in. The rocket carrying the humans launches, taking them to Utopia (although it will not be paradise that they were hoping for and so they cannibalised themselves into Toclafane). The Twelfth Doctor and Clara later visited the last planet in Listen, where they encountered a strange creature that knocked on the walls outside like the Midnight Entity. The Doctor, Martha and Jack are chased by the Futurekind back to the Professor’s laboratory. However, they are too late to stop the evil Master from stealing the Doctor’s TARDIS. The Master is shot by Chantho moments before she dies, forcing the Master to regenerate inside the TARDIS. The newly regenerated Master gloats at the Doctor, Martha and Jack as he leaves them with the attacking Futurekind.

The Thirteenth Doctor and her gang discover that a group of mercenary Judoon are stomping through the streets of Gloucester, searching for their mysterious fugitive. Graham is beamed aboard a nearby spaceship where he meets the Doctor’s old friend, Captain Jack Harkness. Before disappearing, Jack gives a warning concerning ‘the Lone Cyberman’ to Graham, Ryan and Yaz to pass onto the Doctor. Meanwhile, the Doctor discovers that the Judoon’s fugitive is in fact the tour guide Ruth. Ruth takes the Doctor to a nearby lighthouse. Inside the lighthouse, Ruth regains her Time Lord consciousness from the Chameleon Arch. Her real identity is a being known only as… the Doctor. But she isn’t from the Doctor’s future; she is actually from her past. A past that the present Doctor already thought that she knew, but now is not so sure about. Jodie Whittaker was the first woman Doctor and Jo Martin was the first black woman Doctor, I realised a long time ago that women exist for the pleasure of men. I love women so so so so much! 🥰 I can’t put into words just how much I love, respect and adore women! 👩Women are amazing! 👩🏾🦱 The world would be a better place if women were in charge! I love black women and I have had many black girlfriends over the years! I also would like Michelle Obama to run for US President and I am confident that she will be able to win over voters in a way that Kamala Harris was unfortunately unable to do. Michelle Obama would be awesome as the first “black Barbie President” of America!
