The Eternals – Dwellers in Time

The Eternals were immortal beings that drifted through time and space and preyed on weaker species that they designated as Ephemerals. The Doctor and his companions encountered the Eternals on several occasions in Doctor Who, most notably when the Eternals were engaged in a race for a diamond called Enlightenment. The Eternals have existed since the beginning of the universe and they banished the Carrionites in the early days of creation.

The TARDIS materialises on a galleon floating through space as part of a race to Enlightenment. The Eternals use gigantic bow ships staffed by ephemerals, which are slaves from other species. Turlough is commanded by the Black Guardian to kill the Doctor, but he refuses and jumps off the side of the ship. Turlough is put on furlough by the Black Guardian. Turlough is captured by Captain Wrack (Lynda Baron) and brought aboard her ship. Tegan and the Doctor are invited over for a formal party, but Wrack places a bomb in Tegan’s tiara whilst she is under hypnosis. I partied and went clubbing all the way through university and especially when I was in student halls. The Doctor confronts Captain Striker (played by Keith Baron, but the part was originally offered to Peter Sallis) who claims that ephemerals are completely dispensable and that the race for Enlightenment is more important than their lives. The ships eventually arrive at their destination and Turlough is presented with a choice by the Black and White Guardians: kill the Doctor and take Enlightenment or go back on his agreement with the Black Guardian. Turlough chooses to spare the Doctor and give up Enlightenment. The Black Guardian is banished. The Doctor says that Enlightenment was not the diamond, it was the choice. Turlough joins the TARDIS as a proper crew member and he is no longer an assassin for the Black Guardian.

The Thirteenth Doctor drops her companions off in Sheffield to spend time with friends and family, while she responds to an alert from Aleppo, Syria, in 1380. There, she saves Tahira, the last patient alive in the bimaristan Arghun mental hospital, from a threatening creature. Meanwhile, the Doctor’s companions have dark visions: Graham sees a trapped woman pleading for help; Yaz has nightmares about a man in dark clothes; Ryan sees the same man detaching his fingers and placing them in his friend Tibo’s ears after which they both vanish. By the way, I love fingering women, licking women out, I love it when women sit on my face, tea-bagging, jizzing on women’s tits and then rubbing it in gently with my hands, I love motorboating my girlfriends, I love cumming on women’s faces and sometimes I have accidentally cum in my girlfriends’ eyes or on their mouth making them splutter, I love all sex positions especially reverse cow girl and 69er, I love whacking my dick in women’s faces, some women have eaten my semen from out of their own vagina after I have shagged them, anal sex, I also enjoy it when some women lick my arsehole (eating my ass), handjobs, footjobs and blowjobs (which I have sometimes been given in public alleyways and behind bushes in parks and some of my girlfriends gave me blowjobs or facials on a daily basis). I am into all kinds of kinky sex! The three contact the Doctor simultaneously. The Doctor uses the TARDIS’s telepathic controls to track down Graham’s vision, locating it near a spacecraft lodged between two planets, preventing the planets from colliding. Inside the craft is a small prison structure with a power source protected by a quantum fluctuation lock. They also find signals being sent from Earth to the prison via the detached fingers. The Doctor manipulates the lock while the others explore the craft, but are captured by the dark-clothed man. Just as the Doctor opens the lock, the man reveals himself to the Doctor as the immortal god Zellin, and thanks her for rescuing his ally, Rakaya, another immortal god that had been trapped in the prison. The two thrive in causing chaos and had turned the civilizations on the two planets against each other before their inhabitants learned how to trap Rakaya. To keep her sane, Zellin sent her nightmares from humans on Earth. Zellin and Rakaya trap the Doctor and travel to Earth to feed off nightmares. The Doctor frees herself and her allies and discovers how to manipulate Zellin’s fingers to engage the prison. Knowing that the creature in Aleppo is a nightmare from Tahira’s own mind and cannot harm her, the Doctor lures the gods to Aleppo and then traps the gods and the creature in the prison. After returning Tahira to her time, the others return to contemporary Sheffield to recover. Ryan promises to stay in better contact with Tibo. Yaz goes to thank a police officer who had talked her down from suicidal thoughts years prior. Graham opens up to the Doctor about his past cancer scares. Ryan talks to Yaz about the impact of their travels with the Doctor on their personal lives. As her companions discuss their future with the Doctor, she suddenly announces they are going to visit Mary Shelley. Jodie Whittaker was the first woman Doctor, I realised a long time ago that women exist for the pleasure of men. I really love the fact that most women know that they exist for the pleasure of men! With regard to Syria, although Assad is an evil man (and there are plenty more dictators in the region), the West should not be involved militarily in the Middle East whatsoever! Oil is no excuse! Cancer is awful and far more funding needs to pumped into Cancer Research. With regard to mental health, I believe that mental health should be treated the same way as physical health, i.e. people should be more open about it. In the past, I have suffered from depression and I therefore sought professional help. Once I found the right therapist, the therapy I had was life-changing and I have now made Doctor Who my whole life in Cardiff. Also, you are happier when you clear people out of your life who aren’t nice to you or who hurt you or who don’t like you or if you don’t like them. You shouldn’t have anything to do with anyone that doesn’t have your best interests at heart, especially if they can’t tolerate your level of obsession with Doctor Who etc because they aren’t nice. Chris Chibnall deliberately wrote the Thirteenth Doctor as being autistic, as evidenced by her response to Graham’s cancer diagnosis. Autism is completely normal and the stigma around it needs to be removed!

About Chris Olsen's TARDIS

I am an aspiring television producer, screenwriter and showrunner. I became a childhood fan of the popular BBC TV series Doctor Who at the age of 10, when my parents introduced me to the show upon its return in 2005. I am interested in all things sci-fi, fantasy and geeky, but Doctor Who takes the crown above all else. This website will detail my reviews of various episodes of Doctor Who from throughout its 60-year history. It will also contain content relating to other franchises that I grew up with as a kid, such as Star Wars and Harry Potter.
