The human colony of Finetime in the far future is home to the privileged and entitled children of the rich and powerful. However, the colonists are being eaten one by one in alphabetical order by giant slugs called the Mantraps. The slugs were created by the Dot which activates the Bubble, a sophisticated form of social media technology that the spoilt inhabitants of Finetime are addicted to. The Fifteenth Doctor and Ruby Sunday discover to their horror that all of the Finetime inhabitants are racists and white supremacists and that the Dot therefore created the slugs to destroy them. The Doctor is confronted by one of the most shocking twists in the history of Doctor Who.

On the human colony of Finetime, the super rich send their privileged kids to live a life of lethargy, vanity and narcissism. The young and entitled inhabitants of this Black Mirror-esque world are entirely dependent on the Bubble, a sophisticated form of social media technology. However, this makes them oblivious to the fact that the population is being picked off in alphabetical order by giant slugs, in a story that bears similarities to The Macra Terror. The Doctor and Ruby make contact with Finetime inhabitant Lindy Pepper-Bean through her bubble and they help her to navigate her way past the slugs. Like all Russell Group university undergraduates, Lindy is really arrogant, snobby, stuck-up and patronising, making it hard for the Doctor and Ruby to like her (everyone who went to a top university is up themselves and they are all really arrogant – they’re all like that). It’s best not to be friends with anyone who went to a top university because they are all up themselves and they just talk down to you and they talk to you like you are stupid. It’s very frustrating that some people think that I am stupid or that they don’t think that I am a nice person. The real fear for me is how is a nasty or horrible person going to react to my amazing website? Everyone I have ever met who went to a top university thinks that I am stupid, but hopefully this website will prove them wrong! The Doctor deduces that the Bubble’s dot, which activates the Bubble on voice command, has grown to hate the inhabitants of Finetime and it therefore created the slugs to destroy them in their vulnerable, child-like state.

Lindy makes it to the safety of the docks with the other survivors. The Doctor and Ruby offer them rescue in the TARDIS. But Lindy refuses their offer because she and the other inhabitants of Finetime are all racists and white supremacists and that the colony is committed to eugenics. This is the reason why the dot created the slugs to destroy them in the first place. The Doctor has witnessed racism many times before this episode, but this is the first time that he has experienced it. Lindy and the other Finetime colonists sail off to certain death by the slugs (the true heroes of the story) rather than be saved by a black Time Lord. Lindy is one of the most horrible and ghastly characters in the history of Doctor Who, she was like a combination of Professor Umbridge and Lord Voldemort from Harry Potter! When you go back and rewatch this episode, you can see all of Lindy’s micro aggressions towards the Doctor. It is important to remember that most people in real life who don’t like Ncuti Gatwa’s portrayal of the Doctor are racists, xenophobes and homophobes. These are the same people who therefore want Doctor Who to be cancelled again. Unfortunately in real life, loads of people are racist! Dot and Bubble shows that unfortunately racism is still a problem in the future. Racists are everywhere! In the Doctor Who: Unleashed behind the scenes for Dot and Bubble, Russell T Davies pointed out quite rightly that racism isn’t consigned to history, given what is happening to the world right now. Furthermore, everyone in the UK that voted for Brexit and everyone in the USA that voted for (racist rapist) Donald Trump was racist and xenophobic. The shocking 2024 US Presidential Election showed that sadly, America would rather re-elect a racist rapist and convicted criminal (Donald Trump) than a black woman and prosecutor (Kamala Harris). If someone has a criminal conviction then they shouldn’t be allowed to run for political office. How could anyone call Trump the president of Law & Order when he has broken the law more times than any other US President before him? If Trump runs for an (illegal) third term, then Barack Obama should be allowed run again. If Trump doesn’t run again, then Michelle Obama should run instead against JD Vance. If Michelle Obama and AOC ran together, they would get into the White House. Why would anyone vote for Donald Trump? He’s an orange racist rapist! You have to be racist in order to vote for Trump. Donald Trump isn’t a nice man whatsoever. There is nothing boring about being nice, kind, polite and there being no drama. I don’t think nice is boring, nice is great! But sadly, Trump isn’t nice at all. By contrast, Barack Obama was the best US President in my lifetime (I was born on 7th August 1994) and it fills me with horror and disgust that America replaced its first black president with a racist, white supremacist (Donald Trump). Unfortunately, Obama’s presidency was not enough to cleanse America of its racist past. My heart aches when I think about just how hard it must have been for President Obama to give up the White House to Donald Trump, a racist rapist… Obama left office with historically high approval ratings, whereas Trump is the most unpopular president in US history. It is also important to remember that Barack Obama was gracious during his peaceful transfer of power to Trump. By contrast, Donald Trump incited a riot at the US Capitol on 6th January 2021, rather than accept that he lost the election to Joe Biden. Trump didn’t accept that he lost the 2020 US Election to Joe Biden because he doesn’t respect democracy. What was even more shocking was how many Republicans stood by Trump despite the appalling US Capitol Riot, including the obstructionist Mitch McConnell. I am an enemy of the Republican Party! The GOP is no longer the party of Ronald Reagan, the US Republican Party is now unfortunately the party of Donald Trump. Mitt Romney and many other high profile anti-Trump Republicans reassured us that Trump would never become US President and unfortunately they were wrong. You would have to be mad to vote for the Republican Party! When I meet Barack Obama, that is the biggest middle finger I can possibly give to Donald Trump! The USA needs to decide whether it is Barack Obama’s America or whether it is Donald Trump’s America, and personally I prefer Barack Obama’s America. In other words, America has to decide whether it is racist or not racist. Donald Trump < Barack Obama. Barack Obama is the hero we need to save us from Trump’s racism and incompetence! I just want to pretend that Obama is still US President. Barack Obama is far cleverer than I am and he is a better person than I am. Barack Obama represents everything good about America, while Donald Trump represents everything bad about America!

Trump supporters are barbarians, especially when you hear them chanting things like “build a wall” with Mexico! It is important to remember that all Trump voters are racist. It is that simple! It is possible that Lindy and the other Finetime colonists are an allegory for Donald Trump supporters or the Nazis. The American South is still profoundly racist and things have not moved on since the days of the slave trade, segregation and the KKK. The former leader of the KKK endorsed Donald Trump for president! It’s a shame that not everyone who watches Doctor Who religiously embraces its core messages of kindness and tolerance. In the outstanding Doctor Who episode Rosa, Ryan and Yaz discuss their own personal experiences of racism and how that by 2008, America will finally have a black President and that real progress has been made. I am planning to meet Barack Obama soon. I hate America and I am never going back there! They should show the Doctor Who episode Rosa in the US Congress. Trump is just jealous of Obama and his success, Trump is a fragile, thin-skinned tyrant who couldn’t take Obama’s taunts at the White House Correspondence Dinner 2011 and he is doing all of this as petty revenge. This is the most pro-Obama website ever made! I really wish that Obama was still US President. I was jubilant when Obama was re-elected in 2012 (when I was 18)! And I still vividly remember when Obama was first elected in 2008 (when I was 14) and all of the hope and change and optimism that he brought as the first black US President. Barack Obama loves America far more than Donald Trump does! Obama is everything that Trump is not: charismatic, kind, empathetic, caring, eloquent and committed to social justice and equality. Donald Trump is incompetent. I would like Michelle Obama to run for US President and I am certain that she would win an election. The USA needs to finally elect a black female president and I am sure that Michelle Obama would be able to win over voters in a way that Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris were unfortunately unable to. Michelle Obama, please save us from Trump’s racism and incompetence! Unfortunately, we live in a world where prejudice is everywhere. But thankfully, Doctor Who has responded to this by casting a woman Doctor (Jodie Whittaker), a black woman Doctor (Jo Martin) and now a black gay Doctor, who was born in Rwanda and raised in Scotland (Ncuti Gatwa). However, this is not a box-ticking exercise. Doctor Who has always been liberal and progressive and the show has always been good for diversity and representation. Diversity is a strength. You should never be friends with anyone who has any prejudices. This website is peak Chris! Liberal Chris is peak Chris! I am the most liberal person ever! Doctor Who is diametrically opposed to everything that Donald Trump represents. I wish that Trump had never run for the US Presidency and I wish that the EU referendum had never been held in the first place. Life would have been easier for us if Trump had been shot and killed this year. Like all rapists, Donald Trump deserves to die. Rapists and murderers should get the death penalty. At this point, if you don’t think that everyone who voted for Trump was racist then you are just in denial. Trump claims to represent the disenfranchised American working class, but Trump has never had a minimum-wage job in his life and he knows nothing about ordinary people because he is a billionaire that lives in a big tower with his name on it! Donald Trump is a horrible, selfish, fat, ugly, entitled man who is used to getting his own way and no one ever says no to him, apart from most women. I wish that Trump was dead. A lot of women are secretly attracted to their own rapists (some even have rape fantasies), and this partly explains why Trump continues to have strong support from women. The appeal of bad guys to some women will never go away. Plus all of Trump’s voters were racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, anti-semitic, transphobic and Islamophobic like he is. Anti-semitism is evil and wrong and it needs to be stamped out! Islamophobia is evil and wrong too. Strong people don’t put others down, they lift them up and this is an important lesson that Trump needs to learn. You should never say the ‘N-word’ even when quoting rap lyrics. Doctor Who has always been a liberal programme. It has made the occasional right-wing story. However, given that many of its writers have been socialists throughout the decades (i.e. Malcolm Hulke and Barry Letts), it does point in a liberal direction. I have no problem with discussing things like race, feminism, social justice, LGBTQ rights, capitalism and other issues in Doctor Who, and those that do have a problem with it make light of these particular struggles that the show is attempting to educate others about by dismissing them as simply being “political correctness gone mad”. To be a liberal is to rebel! Doctor Who has turned me into a better person! Doctor Who brings out the best in me! My only regret in life is that I wish that I had made Doctor Who my whole life in Cardiff sooner! Doctor Who has a liberal agenda and it has rubbed off on me in a big way! Thanks to Doctor Who, I am now more liberal than I was at university! Doctor Who turned me into a communist! ☭ Doctor Who has turned me from being a conservative christian into an atheist liberal! I haven’t set foot in Trump’s America, although unfortunately I lived through Brexit Britain. Whilst I was at university, I spent two summers at Camp America (2015-2016), before Trump sadly came to power. In the first summer, when I arrived in the USA I forgot an important immigration document. I was taken into a room by the security and I looked through my suitcase and still couldn’t find the document. The security said don’t worry, just get your parents to email it through when you arrive at the camp. However, a friend of mine at the camp called Jamal (who was from Torquay and had brown skin) also forgot the same document when he arrived at the American border. He was taken into a different room by the security, strip searched and had his suitcase tipped upside down. Only once the document was found, Jamal was allowed into the USA. Jamal was treated differently and he was treated like a terrorist and with suspicion just because of the colour of his skin. This is a prime example of institutional racism and white privilege that I have seen with my own eyes. You should always confront racism (or indeed any form of prejudice) when you witness it, rather than be indifferent and passive about it. I attended a talk by Russell T Davies at Cardiff University where he said that a lot of aspiring TV writers come up to him and say “Russell, I want to write about misogyny… I want to write about racism… I want to write about homophobia” and Russell said “Great! That’s like saying: I’ve got some paint. Because these things are so commonplace and they are so widespread that you can’t just start your script off with just that. You’ve got to start with something more specific”. Russell gave an example of a story about a woman who worked in an office and she sent an email containing racist abuse and she got fired for it (Black Mirror). I am anti-racist, anti-sexist, anti-homophobia, anti-misogyny, anti-transphobia, anti-Islamophobia, anti-ableism, anti-fascist, anti-elitism, anti-privilege, anti-classism, anti-capitalist, anti-arrogance, anti-snobbery, anti-ageism and anti-xenophobia. I have also seen for myself that there is a link between capitalism and racism (as shown in Dot and Bubble). It’s not good enough to just simply not be racist, you have to be anti-racist! I love black people! I have had many black girlfriends and black friends over the years, including a Nigerian flatmate! I have had more black girlfriends than everyone I know! I have had many black girlfriends, Asian girlfriends, Eastern European girlfriends, Latina girlfriends and Indian girlfriends. Love is colourblind! I am the least racist person anyone could possibly meet! I have dated every skin colour and every race! I have had the most diverse range of girlfriends ever, including a Nigerian girlfriend and a black Brazilian girlfriend. I would happily marry a black woman. Black is beautiful! Black people are amazing! Skin colour doesn’t matter it’s who we are on inside that matters! Racism is stupid and wrong! There is no excuse for prejudice or discrimination! I have witnessed it throughout my life and I have had enough of it! I am exhausted from it! Let’s build a better world together, a world without prejudice for our children and grandchildren to enjoy!
