HAPPY 60th ANNIVERSARY DOCTOR WHO!

N.B. If I had been going to the Doctor Who conventions regularly since I was 16, I would have met the late, great Elizabeth Sladen (although I met her daughter); Nicholas Courtney, Caroline John (although I met her daughter), Mary Tamm, Philip Madoc, Patrick Moore, Geoffrey Hughes, Angus MacKay, Bernard Horsfall, Richard Briers, Raymond Cusick, Louis Marks, Pennant Roberts, Geoffrey Burgon, Alan Bennion, Michael Gough, Graham Crowden, Sean Caffrey, T P McKenna, Elspet Gray, Philip Latham, Dinah Sheridan, Ingrid Pitt, Margaret John, Jon Rollason, Ralph Watson, Norman Jones, David Spenser, Derek Martinus, Kate O’Mara, Christopher Barry, Angus Lennie, Martin Friend, Jerome Willis, Michael Hayes, Roger Lloyd-Pack, Pip & Jane Baker, Lynda Bellingham, Bernard Kay, Ian Fairbairn, Rex Robinson, Nigel Terry, Edward Burnham, Derek Ware, Kenneth Gilbert, Hugh Walters, Helen Blatch, Anthony Read, Robert Banks Stewart, Ray Barron, Terry Wogan, Burt Kwouk, Rodney Bennett, John Hurt, Tim Pigott-Smith, Deborah Watling, Trevor Baxter, Victor Pemberton, Peter Sallis, Geoffrey Bayldon, Dudley Simpson, Scott Fredericks, Paddy Russell, Jeremy Wilkin, Ken Dodd, Graham Strong, Michael Pickwoad, Helen Griffin, Mona Hammond, Barry Newbury, Fiona Cumming, Shane Rimmer, William Morgan Sheppard, Wendy Williams, Olaf Pooley, Geoffrey Palmer, Mark Eden, Louis Mahoney, Stewart Bevan, Roy Skelton, Peter Halliday, David Fisher, Rio Fanning, Derrick Sherwin, June Whitfield, Pat Gorman, Gareth Thomas, Leslie Grantham, Jacqueline Pearce, Paul Darrow, Graeme Curry, Stephen Thorne, Patricia Prior, Windsor Davies, Glyn Houston, Terrance Dicks (although I met his sons), Stephen Moore, Clive Swift, Nicholas Parsons, David Collings, Malcolm Tierney, Yolande Palfrey, Honor Blackman, Dame Diana Rigg, Philip Martin, John Sessions, David Prowse, Jeremy Bulloch, Myra Frances, David Bailie, David Bailie, Michael Ferguson, Ralph Watson, Bernard Holley, Cynthia Grenville, Arthur Cox, Helen McCrory, Roy Scammell, Jackie Lane, Damaris Hayman, Tony Selby, John Challis, Harry Fielder, June Brown, Lynda Baron, Bernard Cribbins (who I tried to meet), Mervyn Haisman & Henry Lincoln, David Warner, Peter Bowles, Sonny Caldinez, Chris Boucher, Terrence Hardiman, Michael Gambon, Pamela Salem, William Russell (although I met his son), David Graham, Clifford Earl, Robert Sidaway, Roy Boyd, Ysanne Churchman, Colin Fay, Alan Yentob, Nick Hobbs, Arnold Yarrow, Barbara Clegg, Mary Peach (because I missed a Chiswick event that she did), Jean Marsh, Prentis Hancock, Christopher H Bidmead, Michael McStay, John Woodvine, Nabil Shaban, Tony Adams, Pauline Collins, Amanda Brotchie and many more heroes that are sadly no longer with us RIP. William Hartnell, Peter Cushing and Patrick Troughton died before I was born, but I have met Patrick’s sons David and Michael Troughton. Jon Pertwee died when I was almost two, but I have met his son Sean Pertwee. I have started collecting autographs from the late Doctor Who actors from the Who Shop in London in order to make up for the fact that I never met them.

I was born on the 7th August 1994 and I was introduced to Doctor Who as a ten-year-old child by my parents when the series returned in 2005, so I grew up with Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant. Russell T Davies‘s first era was my childhood and it remains my favourite era of Doctor Who. I have watched the whole history of Doctor Who many times and I finished watching all of Classic Doctor Who in 2012, by the age of 17. By 2022, I had made Doctor Who my whole life in Cardiff, and by 2025 I had earned the title of the World Number One Doctor Who Fan! Due to the fact that I live in Cardiff, I have now been to more Doctor Who filming locations than anyone! I am going to live in Cardiff for the rest of my life. My ambition is to one day get a job at Bad Wolf and work my way up to become the Doctor Who showrunner and therefore fulfil a childhood dream of mine. Doctor Who was created in 1963 as a family show and it is not just for kids. Doctor Who is the best TV show ever made! I love Doctor Who more than life itself! I am the biggest Doctor Who fan that has ever lived! Doctor Who has saved my life and I am so grateful for it! I love Doctor Who more than anyone!

About Chris Olsen's TARDIS

I am an aspiring television producer, screenwriter and showrunner. I became a childhood fan of the popular BBC TV series Doctor Who at the age of 10, when my parents introduced me to the show upon its return in 2005. I am interested in all things sci-fi, fantasy and geeky, but Doctor Who takes the crown above all else. This website will detail my reviews of various episodes of Doctor Who from throughout its 60-year history. It will also contain content relating to other franchises that I grew up with as a kid, such as Star Wars and Harry Potter.
